Welcome to Loreto College

Principal’s Welcome

I join with the Chairperson of our Board of Management, Mr. Padraig Kellegher, in extending a warm welcome to the website of Loreto College Cavan. Our school is located in a beautiful woodland setting in Drumkeen, just outside Cavan Town, and has a proud tradition of excellence in education.

What sets Loreto College Cavan apart is our ethos. Rooted in the vision of Mary Ward, the founder of the Loreto Order, our values of Joy, Freedom, Sincerity, Truth and Justice are at the heart of everything that we do. These values are not just words; they shape our community and find daily expression in the learning, relationships, and spirit of our school. We strive to ensure that every student is enriched by them, enabling her to lead a meaningful life, both now and in the future.

Our dedicated and talented staff work tirelessly to support each student in reaching her full potential, academically and personally. We are committed to nurturing confident, resilient, and compassionate young women who are ready to take their place in society and contribute positively to the world.

I invite you to explore our website to gain a sense of the vibrant and welcoming life of our school. Whether you are a parent, a prospective student, or a past pupil, you are an important part of the Loreto story, and we are delighted to share our journey with you.

Le gach dea-ghui,
John Galligan
Principal
