Student Support and Help

Who Can Help Me?

There are lots of people in Loreto College Cavan who are here to support you, listen to you and help you when you need it. If something is worrying you, you do not have to deal with it on your own.

There is always someone to talk to.

People in School Who Can Help

Tutor

Your tutor is one of your main points of contact in school. You can speak to them if you have a worry, question or concern.

Year Head

Your Year Head supports your year group and can help with pastoral, personal or school-related concerns.

6th Year Peer Mentors

Peer Mentors can help younger students settle into school, answer questions and provide a friendly student point of contact.

Guidance Counsellor

Available to listen and support students with personal concerns, wellbeing, education, subject choices, careers and future pathways.

SEN / AEN Support

Supports students with additional educational needs and helps ensure students can access the support they require in school.

Office Staff

Office staff can help students with practical matters and direct them to the appropriate member of staff when necessary.

Class / Subject Teacher

Students can speak to any teacher they trust. Teachers can listen, support them and help them find the right person if further help is needed.

Deputy Principals

The Deputy Principals support students across the school and can help with significant concerns or situations where additional support is required.

Principal

The Principal is also available to support students and ensure they receive the help they need.

Not Sure Who to Talk To?

You don’t need to know which person is the “right” person. Speak to any member of staff you trust and they will help you find the support you need.

Useful Support Contacts

These external organisations are available if you need additional support. Open this section to view the existing contact directory.
